Maintenance Tech III (PLC/Material Handling)

What you will do

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on conveyors, sortation systems, automated storage and retrieval systems, stretch wrappers, dock doors, and related equipment.
• Inspect and troubleshoot automated conveyance, sensors, motors, PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and electrical control systems.
• Use CMMS software to create, manage, complete, and close work orders; record maintenance activities and manage spare-parts inventory.
• Read motor-control schematics and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues to minimize downtime.
• Assist with installing and commissioning new equipment and systems while collaborating with maintenance and other departments.
• Conduct safety inspections, follow lockout/tagout and OSHA standards, train junior maintenance staff, and support facility upkeep.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a distribution or fulfillment-center environment.
• At least 3 years of experience with basic trades and troubleshooting electrical systems up to 480V.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs.
• Experience with material handling equipment, diagnostic tools, CMMS software, and PIT equipment; work at height is expected.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems, multitask, prioritize work, and maintain outstanding attendance on a flexible schedule.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8–12 hours, climb ladders, work in awkward spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems, a maintenance apprenticeship, and material handling equipment repair.
• Technical certification and an associate degree or higher in a related field.
