Power Systems Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States. Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government for on-site work at a government partner location.

Salary: $109,000–$163,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop electrical project designs and construction drawings for launch and processing facilities.
• Design and support electrical systems ranging from 22.5 kV to 120 V.
• Support installation planning and purchasing for power generation, control, distribution, protection, and sequencing systems.
• Prepare requests for proposals, bid packages, bid evaluations, and documentation for subcontractor selection and management.
• Develop electrical system requirements and participate in design reviews.
• Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams on future facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience applying engineering first principles to electrical system design, troubleshooting, or operations.
• Experience with aerospace, utility, or industrial electrical systems, including power generation, redundancy, or high-power applications.
• Experience with power distribution, protection, controls, or sequencing systems.
• Ability to work independently, solve complex technical problems, and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure environments.
• Clear communication with stakeholders across diverse teams and technical backgrounds.

Nice to have

• Orbital launch industry experience or hands-on experience with aviation or rocket ground power systems.
• Familiarity with crane, elevator, or similar control and power systems.
• Experience with NFPA, military, NASA, or similar regulatory requirements.
• Experience designing medium- to high-power electrical systems for utility or industrial facilities.
