Educational Technologist - Instructional System Design (ISD)

Location: Altus, United States; onsite work in offices, assembly labs, customer sites, and simulator or aircraft environments. Domestic and international travel, overtime, and occasional odd shifts may be required.

What you will do

• Follow the Instructional System Design process to maintain, develop, and upgrade C-17 TS courseware across crew specialties.
• Develop instructional procedures, work methods, course objectives, scenarios, case studies, assessment tools, syllabi, and multimedia course materials.
• Coordinate with C&DM, pilots, loadmasters, subject-matter experts, and training managers to review requirements and validate courseware updates.
• Maintain traceability across baseline and changed instructional documentation, task lists, learning-objective hierarchies, and training reports.
• Conduct peer reviews and quality assessments of deliverables while ensuring compliance with company procedures and standards.
• Consult with customers and managers on performance management, instructional strategies, and appropriate training methods and media.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
• At least three years of professional experience in instructional analysis, design, development, delivery, or technical writing, including systematic curriculum development.
• Experience creating training programs, multimedia courseware, self-paced interactive content, and aviation-related training products.
• Ability to understand complex high-tech systems, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Intermediate proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, ActionScript 2/3, standard HTML, HTML5, and JavaScript; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance. Understanding of military protocols and customs is essential.

Nice to have

• Experience developing government training curricula and aviation training systems.
• Experience with Learning Content Management Systems, databases, web-enabled lesson content, or courseware and syllabus development.
• Experience with SQL, Python, or R.
• Familiarity with MS Project.
