Project Lead (Avionics)

Location: East Hartford, Connecticut, USA; onsite, hybrid, or remote options available. U.S. citizenship is required.

What you will do

• Lead avionics and embedded systems projects from initiation through delivery and certification.
• Coordinate day-to-day execution of full-lifecycle software or FPGA engineering programs.
• Represent projects with customers, engineering teams, and senior management.
• Define and maintain project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and resource plans.
• Track execution using Earned Value Management, standard metrics, and Agile/Lean techniques.
• Facilitate collaboration across Systems, Software, Hardware, Test, and Certification teams while guiding team development and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of industry experience, including 3+ years mentoring or supervising engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of Earned Value Management, Agile/Scrum, and Scrum Master responsibilities.
• Experience coordinating full-lifecycle engineering teams and leading with minimal technical or managerial support.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
• U.S. citizenship is required; dual citizenship must be disclosed. Travel of approximately four to six weeks per year is expected.
