Board Hardware Engineer

What you will do

• Lead board hardware projects and collaborate with board architects, product managers, mechanical, layout, signal integrity, validation, firmware, and customer support teams.
• Translate product requirements into electronic schematics and create functional specifications and unit test plans.
• Select and approve components, manage bills of materials, and coordinate component placement and routing constraints.
• Perform pre- and post-layout simulations and support high-speed board design, including DC/DC regulator circuits.
• Bring up boards using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and soldering tools, and debug design issues.
• Support engineering change orders, multiple assignments, and coordination with contracted design and test services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in PCB design and development.
• Experience with high-speed PCB design, DC/DC regulator design and layout, board bring-up, and hardware debugging.
• Working knowledge of Cadence Allegro System Capture and PCB Editor, Sigrity PowerDC, OptimizePI, LTspice, or PSpice.
• Familiarity with DDR4, PCIe, UART, I2C, SPI, and USB bus protocols.
• Fluent English is required for communication with peers, management, marketing, and customers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, C, TCL, VHDL, Verilog, GitHub, or microcontroller programming.
• Experience with high-current DC/DC design and layout, TDR, VNA, PCB layout, or PCB stack-up design.
• Experience using engineering checklists and coordinating contracted design or test services.
