Staff Software Applications Engineer (DevOps)

Location: Hybrid in Salem, New Hampshire, or Raleigh, North Carolina, United States

Salary: USD 120,000–140,000 base compensation annually, plus performance-based bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Own and improve CI/CD infrastructure and build automation to increase engineering velocity.
• Design, maintain, and scale CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Partner with development, operations, and product teams to remove build and deployment friction.
• Automate deployments across public cloud and containerized environments.
• Manage artifacts, investigate build failures, and support incident response.
• Document systems clearly and mentor junior engineering team members.

Requirements

• 8+ years of total experience, including 5+ years in build engineering or release engineering roles.
• Advanced Jenkins experience with Declarative and Scripted Pipelines.
• Hands-on Maven and Gradle experience with strong scripting skills in Bash and Groovy.
• Strong GitHub and Git workflow experience, including branching, merge management, and pull request reviews.
• Experience with AWS or another public cloud, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of Ansible, Terraform, Helm, GitOps tools, Artifactory, Nexus, and Linux.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating AI/ML agents into CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot and Claude.ai or similar large language models.
