Senior DevOps Engineer (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid role based in North Chicago, Illinois, United States

Salary: $109,500–$208,500 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows for software delivery, integration, and testing.
• Participate in requirements refinement, architecture discussions, design reviews, and test plan development.
• Develop automated build, test, and deployment pipelines using Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance using metrics and health reporting.
• Integrate automated code quality checks, security scanning, and continuous integration capabilities.
• Guide engineering teams on DevOps practices, source control workflows, pipeline usage, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of experience, or a master's degree with 6 years, or a PhD with 2 years.
• Professional experience in coding, software design, development, systems integration, and structured software development methodologies.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, security in build pipelines, and software development life cycle processes.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration; familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Artifactory, and pipeline monitoring solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
