Plant Accountant (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Organize and coordinate general accounting activities for the plant.
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including estimates and accruals.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, capital expenditure reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure compliance with financial policies and PCA’s SOX 404 key controls.
• Process hourly payroll and related employee transactions in accordance with company policies and state and federal requirements.
• Guide and train accounting associates while assisting the Plant Controller with day-to-day supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s-equivalent education required; accounting or finance concentration preferred.
• Three years of experience in a business office or accounting department preferred, with exposure to general ledger, payroll, and/or accounts payable functions.
• Experience with financial systems for invoicing, credit and collections, expense reporting, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger required.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, preferably with exceptional Microsoft Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of standard accounting procedures, GAAP concepts and principles, and internal controls.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in manufacturing, containerboard, or corrugated packaging.
