VP, Corporate Controller

Location: United States; hybrid workplace. The role reports to the CFO at corporate headquarters in the Peninsula, San Francisco Bay Area, California.

Compensation: $280,000–$330,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead global accounting operations and accurate, timely, GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Oversee external audits, regulatory compliance, direct and indirect tax, accounting policies, systems of record, and internal controls.
• Partner with finance leaders on a zero-day close, annual GAAP financial projections, acquisitions, integrations, and strategic corporate initiatives.
• Provide technical accounting leadership for new accounting standards, consolidations, business combinations, international and multi-currency accounting, and leveraged capital structures.
• Develop process documentation that supports AI-enabled efficiency across the CFO organization.
• Build and mentor a high-performing global accounting organization, including employees and specialist third-party providers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-year university.
• CPA credential; inactive status is acceptable.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting management experience, including some Big Four experience.
• Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, audit leadership, SOX compliance, consolidations, and business combinations.
• Experience with international and multi-currency accounting, debt or leveraged capital structures, and rapid international expansion.
• Proven experience partnering with executive leadership and building high-performing teams.

Nice to have

• MBA, relevant master’s degree, CMA, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Expertise in U.S. and international telecommunications, sales, and use tax matters.
• Experience architecting a Chart of Accounts to create strategic advantage.
