VP, Corporate Controller (SaaS)

Location: United States; hybrid workplace. Corporate headquarters are in the Peninsula, San Francisco Bay Area, California.

Salary: $280,000–$330,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead global accounting operations and accurate, timely, GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Drive a disciplined close process toward a “zero day close” and maintain accounting policies, systems of record, process documentation, and internal controls.
• Oversee external audits, regulatory compliance, direct and indirect tax, revenue accounting, and accounting operations.
• Support acquisition due diligence, integrations, new accounting-standard implementation, and strategic corporate initiatives.
• Prepare annual GAAP projections for the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement in partnership with Strategic Finance and FP&A.
• Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on financial strategy and develop a high-performing global accounting team, including employees and specialist third-party providers.

Requirements

• Proven managerial or supervisory experience leading, guiding, and mentoring direct reports and external specialist advisors.
• Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready written deliverables.
• Experience supporting businesses through rapid international expansion and partnering with executive leadership on growth and operational excellence.
• Four-year accredited university degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA credential; inactive status is acceptable.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting management experience, including some Big Four experience.
• Industry experience in software, SaaS, unified communications, and/or telecommunications.
• Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit leadership.
• Solid knowledge of SOX compliance requirements, consolidations, business combinations, international and multicurrency accounting, and debt or leveraged capital structures.
• Proven success building and developing high-performing teams.
• Intellectual curiosity about applying AI, machine learning, and automation to financial, accounting, and operational processes.
• Team-player mindset and willingness to support colleagues and broader team objectives.

Nice to have

• MBA or another relevant master’s degree.
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credential.
• Lean Six Sigma belt.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Expertise in U.S. and international telecommunications, sales, and use tax matters.
• Experience architecting a Chart of Accounts to create competitive and strategic advantage.
