TL;DR
Supplier Procurement Quality Engineer (Aerospace) (AS9100/Supplier Quality): Developing and managing supplier quality processes for human spaceflight goods and services with an accent on supplier qualification, audits, purchased-product verification, and contractual quality requirements. Focus on nonconformance containment, corrective actions, performance-trend analysis, and maintaining compliance with aerospace quality standards and export-control requirements.

Location: Houston, United States. The role is generally performed in an office environment and may involve on-site work at supplier facilities or hirify.global. Access to export-controlled technical data may require U.S. export-control screening, and eligibility is a condition of employment.

What you will do

  • Qualify suppliers, manage the Approved Supplier List, and establish quality-clause flow-down requirements for human spaceflight procurement.
  • Conduct supplier assessments, audits, product inspections, and process surveillance at supplier facilities or hirify.global.
  • Manage supplier nonconformances, containment, corrective actions, deliverables, and purchased-part verification.
  • Track external-provider KPIs, prepare supplier quality reports, and present findings to Safety and Mission Assurance and program leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project scope, deliverables, progress reporting, and agile project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field; an ABET-accredited degree is preferred.
  • 4–9 years of experience for Level III, 7–12 years for Level IV, or 10–16 years for Level V.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and experience with supplier audits, purchased-product verification, contract or purchase-order review, and quality-requirement flow-down.
  • Experience with engineering drawings, industry specifications, procedures, work instructions, RCCA, containment, preventive action, continuous improvement, and statistical analysis.
  • ERP knowledge and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office; Costpoint ERP knowledge is desirable.
  • Must meet any applicable U.S. export-control eligibility requirements for access to ITAR, EAR, or NASA-regulated technical data.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required to meet critical project milestones.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in engineering.
  • Experience with AS9102, NADCAP, or PPAP.
  • Experience with Costpoint ERP.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaboration across engineering, procurement, quality, Safety and Mission Assurance, and program teams.
  • Core values include leadership, innovation, teamwork, accountability, technical rigor, execution discipline, and pride of delivery.
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
