Spacecraft Quality Inspector (Aerospace)

Location: Guildford, United Kingdom; onsite in the South West UK. The role requires candidates to be SC clearable and may require completion of Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.

What you will do

• Inspect manufactured, assembled, and integrated spacecraft components against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections using inspection tools and equipment.
• Review manufacturing documentation, inspection records, and quality reports.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances while supporting investigations and corrective actions.
• Support incoming, in-process, final, and First Article Inspection activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, engineering, and quality teams on audits, continuous improvement, and quality compliance.

Requirements

• Experience as a Quality Inspector in the aerospace or space sector.
• Experience inspecting precision-engineered components and assemblies using dimensional and visual methods.
• Familiarity with quality standards and quality management systems, including non-conformance management.
• Strong attention to detail, accurate documentation skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• SC clearance eligibility and completion of required personnel security checks may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience in the space or satellite industry.
• Knowledge of First Article Inspection processes and AS9100 or equivalent standards.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, integration, or test environments.
• Understanding of continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies.
