Director of FP&A - R&D (Robotics)

Location: USA, Wilmington, MA — HQ; hybrid role. Relocation benefit available for qualified new hires.

Salary: $186,000–$255,200 annual base pay, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Act as the primary finance business partner for R&D leadership, supporting financial strategy and investment decisions.
• Lead R&D annual operating plans, long-range planning, quarterly forecasts, and monthly financial reviews.
• Own headcount capacity planning and project-level expense planning in partnership with Engineering and Program Management.
• Evaluate development initiatives, project business cases, investment opportunities, and resource trade-offs.
• Build financial models, dashboards, and executive-ready analyses covering R&D spending, utilization, and investment effectiveness.
• Lead, coach, and develop embedded FP&A analysts while improving planning processes and reporting automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive finance experience, including business partnering with R&D, Engineering, or a similar technical organization.
• Experience supporting R&D or product development in technology, robotics, or complex manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing finance professionals.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative, matrixed organization.
• Up to 10% travel may be required; a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client and customer locations are required.
