Senior Software Engineer, Growth (React/TypeScript/Ruby on Rails)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office.

Salary: $164,000–$227,000 base salary annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, refactor, and scale consumer product features across React/TypeScript interfaces, Rails services, and APIs.
• Build resilient APIs and partner with mobile engineers on contracts supporting the React Native application.
• Prototype and launch A/B tests and use results to determine which features ship, iterate, or stop.
• Own page performance, funnel conversion, accessibility, and product instrumentation.
• Collaborate with product, design, data science, and marketing to identify member pain points and develop solutions.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, and engineering standards across the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience in a production environment at scale.
• Experience with a modern front-end framework such as React and a server-side framework such as Ruby on Rails.
• Proficiency with TypeScript and component-driven UI development.
• Experience with transactional databases, caching, client-side state, and performance optimization.
• Experience running A/B tests and using feature flags.
• Exposure to architectural patterns for large-scale web applications.
