Senior Software Engineer (Node/React)

Location: Hybrid, based in the San Francisco office; in-person attendance is required three days per week for a full 8-hour business day. Remote days follow core business hours, with occasional off-site or on-site events.

Salary: $158.4K–$237.6K annual base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and scale member-to-member referral experiences, including incentive mechanics, referral flows, and personalization.
• Deliver large production software projects and maintain key code repositories.
• Modernize pipelines and improve the maintainability, availability, and performance of product features.
• Break down complex problems, resolve incident root causes, and support predictable delivery in a continuous-deployment DevOps environment.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps, architecture, developer tooling, and end-to-end project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and real-time pairing, and communicate technical solutions to technical and non-technical partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of non-internship, full-time professional software development experience.
• Experience delivering large software projects or features in production.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Backend-heavy full-stack experience, with ownership of backend APIs and services and the ability to work on React or React Native frontend surfaces.
• Experience using AI coding tools and agentic AI workflows while maintaining code quality.

Nice to have

• Experience with growth teams, incentives, rewards, social mechanics, acquisition channels, or user journeys.
• Experience integrating ML model outputs into acquisition surfaces, including A/B testing infrastructure or model serving.
• Experience running experiments with data science teams or using experimentation platforms and ML feature stores.
• Familiarity with healthcare or regulated-data environments.
