Senior Staff Engineer (Fullstack)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid work

Salary: $208,000–$349,655 per year base pay for candidates based in the United States; expected OTE is $232,000–$390,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Set technical direction and quality standards across the Channels division.
• Lead ambiguous, multi-team projects from problem framing and design through implementation, rollout, and operational support.
• Evolve foundational primitives, frameworks, and platforms for sophisticated marketing channels.
• Build shared message-editor frameworks, real-time dashboard capabilities, code-generation tooling, and modern React-based systems.
• Improve observability, error handling, incremental rollouts, and reliability across dashboard and delivery layers.
• Mentor engineers and remain hands-on by designing and building foundational systems and frameworks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership across multiple teams or complex product systems.
• Full-stack experience with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, and React.
• Experience designing and shipping frameworks, libraries, or platform services used by other engineers.
• Strong architectural judgment and experience with distributed systems, API design, MongoDB, or event-driven architectures.
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs, mentor engineers, build consensus, and deliver high-leverage work with minimal direction.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in San Francisco, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with shared component libraries or design system primitives.
• Experience with real-time systems and event-driven message orchestration.
• Experience with code generation, scaffolding, or CI/CD tooling for large-scale codebases.
• Experience scaling a product from early stage to enterprise scale while maintaining developer velocity.
