Senior Staff Engineer (Fullstack): Serving as the technical anchor for the Channels division, you will drive architectural direction and lead complex, cross-team projects to evolve the messaging lifecycle platform. Focus on bridging the gap between customer-facing dashboards and delivery engines, mentoring engineering teams, and ensuring system reliability at enterprise scale.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Salary: $208,000 – $349,655/year (OTE: $232,000 – $390,000/year)

What you will do

• Drive the technical vision and architectural direction for the entire Channels division.
• Lead large, ambiguous projects end-to-end, from design documentation to implementation and rollout.
• Mentor engineers at all levels through code reviews, architecture reviews, and pairing.
• Improve system observability, error handling, and reliability across dashboard and delivery layers.
• Design and build foundational systems and frameworks that act as a force multiplier for engineering teams.
• Partner with engineering managers to resolve technical debt and ensure high-quality product delivery.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of technical leadership across multiple teams.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and modern frontend environments including TypeScript and React.
• Experience designing and shipping foundational infrastructure, frameworks, or platform services.
• Strong architectural judgment with the ability to balance abstraction and simplicity.
• Proven ability to build consensus and drive projects to completion in high-ambiguity environments.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience building shared component libraries or design system primitives.
• Background in real-time systems or event-driven architectures.
• Experience with developer experience tooling such as code generation or CI/CD for large-scale codebases.
• Experience scaling products from early-stage to enterprise-level.
