Software Engineer (Java/Spring)

Location: Dublin, Ohio, United States — hybrid, typically three days per week on-site

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and support components for the Access Checker service.
• Develop high-throughput link-harvesting and evaluation features for identifying eResource access issues.
• Write maintainable, well-tested Java/Spring code for a reliable production service.
• Investigate and resolve performance, reliability, integration, and operational issues.
• Integrate solutions with other hirify.global systems while minimizing performance and resource impact.
• Participate in technical design, code reviews, and collaboration with product managers, designers, and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of relevant software development experience delivering production-quality software.
• Strong Java/Spring programming skills and knowledge of object-oriented design, testing, debugging, and performance considerations.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful services or APIs and working with relational databases.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
• Experience using AI tools, frameworks, or concepts in software development.

Nice to have

• React or Python experience for interfaces, tooling, or automated testing.
• Automated testing frameworks and data-intensive workflows.
• CI/CD, cloud services, distributed systems, or ML/LLM-enabled applications.
• Experience working in large codebases or platform ecosystems with multiple dependencies.
