Sr. Software Engineer - Remote (Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software applications throughout the full development life cycle.
• Define and refine requirements and specifications with application owners and analysts.
• Design relational database structures, write SQL and stored procedures, and protect data integrity.
• Write unit and integration tests, review pull requests, and maintain coding standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform performance and root-cause analysis, and support releases.
• Create technical documentation, evaluate development tools, and collaborate with administrators, analysts, and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4–6 years of software development experience, including at least 3 years of Java/J2EE web development in a WebSphere environment.
• Strong Java/J2EE skills with JSP, EJB, tag libraries, MVC frameworks such as Spring or Struts, and Hibernate.
• Strong relational database knowledge, complex SQL and stored procedure skills, and proficiency with SQL Server and SSMS.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, REST, SOAP, web and application servers, Maven, Git or Bitbucket, JUnit, JIRA, and Agile processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems, communicate clearly, work independently, and validate output from AI-assisted development tools.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring or leading developers and overseeing delivery on larger projects.
• DevOps collaboration experience.
• Familiarity with SSRS and Eclipse-based IDEs in large enterprise codebases.
