Salary: CAD 120,000–195,000 annual base pay across Canada, with potential discretionary bonuses and equity.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain Linux kernel features and tests in EOS using C, C++, and Python.
  • Track upstream Linux kernel developments and integrate new kernel versions into EOS.
  • Design new kernel features and contribute changes to the mainline Linux kernel.
  • Qualify CPUs, NICs, and other kernel-dependent hardware components with hardware engineers and vendors.
  • Build automated tests and test infrastructure while debugging scalability, performance, customer, and system-test issues.
  • Provide technical leadership, own projects from definition through deployment, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • BS with 8+ years of experience, MS with 6+ years, Ph.D. with 3+ years, or equivalent work experience in computer science or engineering.
  • Expert-level C programming experience; knowledge of C++ and Python is desirable.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting, debugging, and developing Linux kernel features.
  • Familiarity with Linux kernel architecture and the upstream community patching process.
  • Understanding of IP networking, modern software engineering, software design, and implementation practices.
  • Familiarity with x86 and ARM CPU architectures, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills.
