Sr. Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 base pay per year

What you will do

• Verify and validate safety-critical platform software components in accordance with DO-178C standards.
• Design, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures based on high-level and low-level software requirements.
• Perform Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing for platform algorithms and low-level drivers.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using C/C++ and Python.
• Identify defects, analyze root causes with embedded developers, and verify fixes.
• Test fault detection and diagnostic algorithms and participate in software audits and reviews.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong C/C++ knowledge and experience with Python or similar scripting languages for test automation.
• Experience with safety-critical software verification standards, including DO-178C, ISO 26262, or ASIL C/D.
• Experience across the full software verification lifecycle, including requirements traceability and verification reporting.
• Experience with low-level communication protocols, RTOS environments, hardware debugging, and laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

• Experience using unit testing frameworks and coverage metrics to support certification objectives.
