Embedded Software Engineer - New Grad (C/C++)

Annual pay range: $68,800–$109,800 USD

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain real-time embedded platform and application software.
• Develop hardware and software interfaces across abstraction layers.
• Build fault and alarm subsystems for detecting, reporting, and managing defects.
• Create traffic-protection, equipment-protection, and performance-monitoring applications.
• Develop interfaces that abstract low-level software and hardware components.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline.
• Previous relevant internship, co-op, or applied project experience.
• Programming experience with C or C++.
• Experience with Python or Bash for high-level programming and scripting.
• Knowledge of Git or similar software revision control systems.
• Familiarity with software design patterns, multithreading, and blocking versus non-blocking approaches.

Nice to have

• Experience developing embedded systems or telecom products.
• Understanding of real-time operating systems, embedded systems, or bare-metal programming.
• Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Gerrit, Jira, unit-test frameworks, debuggers such as GDB, or Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
