Associate Director, Project Management

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; eligible for hire in select U.S. locations

Salary: USD 104,030–150,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead and manage creative and strategic projects and programs for clients and large brands.
• Oversee project management staffing plans, workload prioritization, program reporting, budgets, scope, timelines, and overall program health.
• Identify program-level risks, manage escalations, perform root-cause analysis, and develop mitigation plans.
• Establish onboarding plans, enforce delivery processes, and drive improvements to standards and workflows.
• Evaluate, coach, mentor, and develop Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Senior Project Managers.
• Collaborate with portfolio stakeholders on client road maps, improvement plans, retrospectives, and strategic partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and professional experience.
• 7+ years of relevant experience delivering and managing strategic projects and programs in an advertising agency environment.
• Expert knowledge of project delivery processes and program management.
• Advanced risk management, stakeholder management, reporting, and program-level financial management skills.
• Experience leading high-complexity or high-visibility projects, working with ambiguity, and creating estimates and timelines with limited information.
• Strong team-building, coaching, delegation, escalation management, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence skills.
