Software Engineer Lead-VL-60-Security Clearance Eligibility Required

Location: In-office position in Orlando, Florida, United States. International travel may be required, and the role requires compliance with federally mandated U.S. export control laws.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, design, implementation, and modification of one or more computer software configuration items.
• Lead and oversee the technical work of teams of 2–10 software engineers.
• Assign work, monitor progress, manage schedules and estimates, and support project cost and delivery targets.
• Lead design and code reviews, resolve technical disagreements, and ensure review feedback is addressed.
• Develop and modify software components, define requirements-based solutions, perform unit testing, and document customer-required testing.
• Support proposal efforts, configuration management, team development, and integration of new engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 or more years of successful software development experience.
• Expert knowledge of programming languages, software architecture, design methodologies, and procedural and object-oriented development.
• Ability to work in Linux and/or Windows environments and experience with configuration management tools.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and experience building software to requirements or synthesizing requirements.
• Must be eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance if required and comply with U.S. export control laws.

Nice to have

• Experience with full-motion flight simulators, avionics, electronic control loaders, instructor operator stations, and simulation servers.
• Experience developing, integrating, or operating AR/VR/XR and mixed-reality simulation environments.
• Experience with SAF, DIS, image generators, flight modeling, or datalink simulation systems.
• Experience with immersive technologies, real-time rendering, and interoperable simulation architectures.
