Manager, Simulation Engineering (R4870)

Location: Dallas, Texas; on-site

Salary: $160,000–$240,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

• Design, manage, build, and integrate simulation tooling for V-BAT and future aircraft.
• Develop simulation roadmaps and release plans with technical leads and stakeholders.
• Align simulation priorities across aerodynamics, guidance and navigation control, propulsion, software, and autonomy teams.
• Hire and manage specialized simulation engineers across multiple locations.
• Build workflows, documentation, and dashboards that improve confidence in simulation tooling and support release decisions.
• Drive simulation technology best practices and ensure models reflect real-world conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field and 8+ years of professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or projects.
• Strong foundation in C++ and software architecture.
• Knowledge of statistics, mathematics including linear algebra, and foundational physics.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups and managing successful roadmaps.
• Ability to interpret technical papers and algorithms and apply simulation and testing practices to safety and reliability.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized application development.
• Knowledge of rigid body dynamics, aerodynamics, or propulsion systems.
• Experience with Python and data science frameworks such as NumPy, Pandas, or Dagster.
• Experience with robotics concepts and node-based architectures such as ROS.
