Manager, Software Engineering - System Update Tools (R4745)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; on-site

Salary: $160,000–$240,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of software applications for over-the-air aircraft updates.
• Develop and oversee interactive aircraft simulation and operator training applications.
• Guide maintenance management and operator-facing workflow tools that support aircraft readiness.
• Review tools for collecting, processing, and analyzing flight data to improve safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Release applications that optimize Customer Success and Production operations.
• Coordinate with DevOps, Simulation, Integration & Test, and GCS teams to ensure reliable system integration, security, performance, and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of software development experience with complex or distributed systems.
• 1+ years of experience leading projects or managing engineers.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++.
• Experience building deployment systems, data-processing solutions, or user-facing applications.
• Experience delivering reliable, secure, and performant software and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with OTA updates, fleet-wide software deployment, aircraft simulation, or training applications.
• Experience building maintenance, operator-facing, or flight-data systems.
• Experience in high-reliability, safety-critical, or operational environments.
• Experience supporting testing, validation, or integration efforts.
