TL;DR
Instructor Pilot - GBTS SME (FAcT) (Flight Training/Courseware): Designing and reviewing courseware and integrated training systems for Pilatus PC-21 and Grob 120TP programs with an accent on technical accuracy, synthetic training devices, and RCAF training-plan alignment. Focus on validating courseware, analyzing training risks, developing operational procedures, and supporting Flight Training Operations design.

Location: Remote anywhere in Canada, with occasional travel to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, 1–2 times per quarter. Temporary 3–5 year position.

Base pay range: $107,500–$157,500 CAD per year, with final compensation based on experience, skills, location, and internal equity.

What you will do

  • Serve as the Instructor Pilot subject-matter expert for the FAcT Civilian Qualified Flying Instructor team.
  • Support the design of Pilatus PC-21 and Grob 120TP training programs, including training plans, publications, software integration requirements, and physical-space design.
  • Design and develop classroom, synthetic-device, and live-flying courseware through the full review and approval cycle.
  • Review module outlines, storyboards, and courseware with instructional designers to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with the RCAF Training Plan.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise for acceptance testing, validation and verification, and synthetic training device design.
  • Develop policies and procedures for the integrated training centre and coordinate operational requirements with Air Operations and Dispatch.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Instructor Pilot in the RCAF or a comparable military training environment.
  • 5–8 years of job-related experience in military flight operations and 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Expertise with synthetic training devices and multimedia-supported training.
  • Experience in curriculum design and/or training program management.
  • Familiarity with high-performance, single-engine turboprop trainers such as the Pilatus PC-21 or Grob 120TP.
  • Relevant post-secondary education, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to obtain and maintain Level I security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience with GBTS design, training device design, or acceptance testing.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures for flight operations and dispatch.
  • Interest in transitioning to a Moose Jaw-based CQFI role after the project concludes.
