Senior Electrical Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Orlando, FL, United States. Onsite, hands-on work with simulators and equipment; travel of up to 5% to customer locations is required.

What you will do

• Design, analyze, and optimize electrical systems, schematics, circuits, components, and power distribution systems for advanced training simulators.
• Integrate electrical systems with mechanical, software, and simulation hardware subsystems, then test and validate complete systems.
• Translate customer and user requirements into technical specifications, feasibility studies, and design trade-offs.
• Lead the development of custom circuit boards, wiring harnesses, power systems, and other electrical hardware with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, test plans, technical reports, and project status updates.
• Troubleshoot deployed simulator systems, support maintenance, mentor junior engineers, and train customers during installation and delivery.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and security clearance eligibility are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Typically 8+ years of electrical engineering experience designing and developing electrical systems and components.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, digital and analog circuit design, power distribution, quality requirements, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with electrical design and analysis tools such as Altium Designer, AutoCAD, MATLAB, PSpice, or OrCAD.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, organizational, and decision-making skills; ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds and stand for several hours.

Nice to have

• Defense or aerospace industry experience.
• Experience with virtual simulation systems, simulation software, or virtual reality technologies.
• Experience with SolidWorks, precision measuring devices, or 3D scanning tools.
