Senior Electrical Engineer (Aerospace)

hirify.global is an aerospace company developing a new category of autonomous logistics aircraft and VTOL systems.

What you will do

• Lead the electrical layout, wiring, and assembly of the Iron Bird ground test platform for avionics and power train validation.
• Develop and iterate on hybrid-electric powertrain architecture, including turbine powerplants, generators, and battery pack integrations.
• Design high-voltage distribution networks with a focus on safety isolation, grounding, EMI/EMC mitigation, and circuit protection.
• Layout and build complex aerospace-grade wire harnesses optimized for SWaP-C.
• Define and implement electrical testing strategies, including HIL testing and support for ground and flight operations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to bridge gaps between hardware and software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience, ideally within a fast-paced startup or small team.
• Proven track record with electric vehicles, eVTOL, or aerospace powertrain and high-voltage DC distribution.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD tools for schematic capture, layout, and wire harness design.
• Extensive experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Ability to self-manage competing priorities and solve ambiguous technical problems.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical systems design for autonomous systems or VTOL aircraft.
• Experience with hybrid propulsion systems.
• Familiarity with aerospace certification frameworks or guidelines.
• Hands-on experience with flight testing and data analysis using Python or MATLAB.
