TL;DR
Scientist 3, Functional Immunogenomics (Genomics/Immunology): Developing and deploying molecular engineering technologies, biologically relevant models, and genomics, functional, and imaging read-outs to identify disease mechanisms, therapeutic targets, and cell therapy strategies for immune-mediated diseases with an accent on primary immune cell assays, CRISPR-based tools, and high-content genomics. Focus on integrating complex experimental systems, analyzing single-cell and genomic data, and leading multidisciplinary research projects.

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States of America

Salary: $103,400–$192,000 annually, based on the primary California location. A discretionary annual bonus may also be available.

Company

hirify.global is a biotechnology company within the Roche Group focused on discovering and developing medicines for serious and life-threatening diseases.

What you will do

  • Develop and deploy molecular engineering technologies, biologically relevant models, and functional genomics approaches.
  • Use genomics, functional, and imaging read-outs to investigate complex immunological disease mechanisms at scale.
  • Identify novel molecular mechanisms, therapeutic target candidates, and cell therapy strategies for immune-mediated diseases.
  • Design, execute, and interpret experiments independently while managing multiple research projects.
  • Collaborate with scientists across immunology, cell therapy, genomics, human genetics, computational biology, and AI/ML.
  • Analyze single-cell and genomic data using R and/or Python and communicate scientific findings.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in molecular biology, genetics, immunology, systems biology, synthetic biology, developmental biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Deep immunology expertise, including primary immune cell culture and functional assays.
  • Strong background in molecular biology and functional genomics tools, including CRISPR knockout, CRISPRi/a, base editing, deep mutational scanning, lineage tracing, or molecular recorders.
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing, single-cell genomics, proteomics, imaging, flow cytometry, and broad biochemical, molecular, and cell biology techniques.
  • Ability to lead research projects, collaborate across disciplines, solve problems independently, and communicate effectively.
  • Record of scientific productivity through publications and/or patents.

Nice to have

  • In vivo research experience.
  • Experience applying molecular engineering and functional genomics tools at scale in primary immune cells and/or induced pluripotent stem cells.
  • Motivation to learn new experimental approaches and computational analyses.

Culture & Benefits
