Senior Associate Scientist, Cellular Genomics

Location: On premise in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and eligibility.

Annual base salary: $68,600–$114,300, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Process, quality-check, troubleshoot, and interpret sequencing and genomic datasets, including single-cell, single-nucleus, spatial, bulk, and multiomic data.
• Apply established computational biology and bioinformatics workflows, including AI-enabled tools, to produce reproducible analyses and reports.
• Generate quality-control summaries, exploratory analyses, figures, tables, and technical documentation for project teams.
• Support experimental design, sample and metadata planning, platform selection, data management, and interpretation of genomic readouts.
• Evaluate and benchmark bioinformatics workflows, assays, platforms, instrumentation, and analytical approaches.
• Perform wet-lab genomics activities such as tissue dissociation, cell and nuclei isolation, nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, sequencing, and quality control.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 0–3 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 0+ years of relevant experience, in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, systems biology, data science with biological applications, biotechnology, biological sciences, or a related field.
• Experience with genomics data analysis, quality control, visualization, or reproducible bioinformatics workflows.
• Experience using Python, R, command-line tools, notebooks, version-controlled workflows, or related analysis environments.
• Foundational hands-on experience with molecular biology, sample preparation, sequencing library preparation, or genomics assay execution.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, collaboration, and scientific-rigor skills.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable now and in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-enabled or agentic bioinformatics tools such as Claude Science, ToolUniverse, or BIOMNI.
• Expertise in inflammation, immunology, neuro-inflammation, or translational medicine.
