Senior Research Associate, Functional Genomics

Salary: $84,250–$114,250 base salary per year, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Plan, execute, analyze, troubleshoot, and interpret large-scale in vivo functional genomics screens with substantial independence.
• Contribute to immune perturbation screens across multiple tissues to map genetic circuits governing mature immune functions.
• Support neuro-immune screens in mouse and non-human primate models focused on Alzheimer’s disease.
• Develop single-cell and spatial transcriptomic methods for in vivo perturbation screens.
• Perform immune-cell isolation, single-cell and spatial profiling, library cloning, viral vector production, and NGS operations.
• Maintain organized laboratory workflows, equipment, supplies, documentation, data analysis, and presentations.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree or equivalent professional experience in biology, neuroscience, genetics, or a related field.
• With a BS: 4–5+ years of relevant experience; with an MS: 2+ years of relevant postgraduate experience in CRISPR and/or single-cell genomics.
• Professional experience in molecular biology and single-cell genomics is required.
• Experience with tissue dissociation, flow cytometry, FACS, and cell culture.
• Ability to work independently, document experiments carefully, collaborate effectively, and troubleshoot complex laboratory problems.

Nice to have

• Experience with library cloning, including sgRNAs and ORFs.
• Experience with animal handling and surgeries.
• Ability to analyze large and complex datasets using Python, R, or similar tools.
