TL;DR
Principal Network Backbone & Edge Lead (AI Infrastructure/Network Engineering): Owning regional delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of backbone, edge, data centre, and connectivity infrastructure with an accent on Nokia SR routing, carrier management, and hyperscale network operations. Focus on leading hands-on deployments, expanding regional networks, automating operations with Ansible and Python, and resolving complex incidents across customers, vendors, and global network teams.

What you will do
- Own end-to-end regional network infrastructure delivery, including site buildouts, backbone expansions, operations, incident response, and capacity management.
- Lead and develop network engineers across core and optical networking, data centre connectivity, and service delivery.
- Deploy, configure, test, and commission network infrastructure, including Nokia SR WAN edge and cloud exchange connectivity.
- Manage change windows, maintenance, documentation, asset inventories, and network automation initiatives.
- Manage technical relationships with carriers, wavelength providers, colocation partners, and equipment vendors, including circuit delivery and SLA performance.
- Support enterprise customers and hyperscalers with onboarding, connectivity design, technical due diligence, pre-sales, and ongoing service management.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead team-management role.
- Deep knowledge of data centre networking, WAN edge, and connectivity engineering in hyperscale or large-scale data centre environments.
- Proven experience with Nokia SR routing platforms, including BGP, VRF, and service segmentation.
- Strong knowledge of Megaport, Equinix Fabric, and customer direct-connect services.
- Experience with carrier and vendor management, network automation using Ansible and Python, Network-as-Code, CI/CD, Linux, and Git.
- Strong commercial awareness, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Regional carrier and connectivity expertise across EMEA, APAC, or the Americas.
- Knowledge of major regional Internet exchanges and connectivity ecosystems.
- Experience supporting hyperscale cloud or AI infrastructure environments.
- Additional language skills relevant to the region.
