Systems Engineering Director - CRM (AI)

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; minimum four days per week onsite.

Salary: $198,400–$297,600 annually, plus short-term and long-term incentive plans.

What you will do

• Lead a Systems Engineering organization of 10–20 engineers, including managers and technical contributors.
• Set systems engineering and Balanced Innovation strategy across cardiac rhythm management programs and product platforms.
• Guide system architecture, interface governance, reuse, simplification, and cross-program consistency.
• Increase responsible AI adoption in requirements, architecture, IVV planning, design reviews, documentation, and knowledge management.
• Strengthen MBSE and digital engineering practices across requirements, design, testing, and product-system knowledge repositories.
• Develop talent, manage resources and fiscal priorities, and advise program teams on readiness, feasibility, and technical risk.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; qualifying degree credentials are required for degrees earned outside the United States.
• At least 10 years of systems engineering experience in the medical-device industry or another highly regulated industry, or at least 8 years with an advanced degree.
• At least 7 years of managerial experience.
• Must be based in the United States and hold unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and throughout employment.
• Experience leading systems engineering teams and influencing business-unit R&D, program, project, functional, enterprise, and technology-development partners.
• Strong judgment in technical risk, tradeoff, investment, platform, and talent decisions.

Nice to have

• Medical-device development, quality, compliance, and full lifecycle experience from concept through validation, launch, and post-market learning.
• Experience as a systems architect, lead systems engineer, chief engineer, or equivalent technical leader.
• Experience with CRM/CAS products, cardiac rhythm or electrophysiology technologies, MBSE, digital engineering, AI-enabled workflows, or reusable design patterns.
• Experience delivering major programs to market, transitioning feasibility work into development, and managing resource supply, demand, and fiscal planning.
