Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York, United States

Salary: $210,000–$300,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead, hire, and coach a high-performing engineering team.
• Set technical direction and help engineers deliver features and products from the ground up.
• Lead design and architecture discussions and contribute to complex technical decisions.
• Stay hands-on when needed, including architecture reviews, incident debugging, design, development, testing, and occasional support.
• Work with healthcare professionals to tailor software solutions to real-world needs.
• Support rapid development and deployment within an agile team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an engineering manager role.
• Experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-moving environments.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and experience designing, building, and scaling production-grade applications or systems.
• Strong systems thinking, balancing scalability, time to market, and user value under uncertainty.
• Comfort with rapid iteration, experimentation, multiple responsibilities, and learning from failure.
• Passion for improving patient access through innovative technology.
