Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Reston, Virginia; only local candidates will be considered. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software development and deployment.
• Manage AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, configuration management, and system administration across development, QA, and UAT environments.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot defects, and resolve environment-related issues during release cycles.
• Improve the security, availability, reliability, efficiency, and scalability of infrastructure and applications.
• Collaborate with software engineering, QA, and Operations teams on version control, build automation, and containerization best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of related experience; 11 years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• Deep experience with AWS, Azure, infrastructure management, and scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD; Docker; and Kubernetes.
• Strong Bash and Python scripting skills, with experience using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/EFK Stack.
• U.S. citizenship or Green Card status and local availability in Reston, Virginia are required.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CKA, or CKAD certification.
• Experience with microservices architecture and service meshes such as Istio.
