Underwriting Support Specialist (Insurance)

Location: Richmond, VA, United States. US work authorization is required.

Salary: $21.78–$29.95 per hour, with a 5% incentive.

What you will do

• Rate new and renewal business and prepare pre-renewal setups for assigned product lines.
• Process post-transaction activities across multiple policy and rating systems.
• Maintain accurate rating and pricing documentation in the document management system.
• Enter and verify policy information and ensure all required documentation is on file.
• Monitor and process incoming work through underwriting support workflows.
• Meet prescribed productivity, accuracy, and departmental service-level standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Strong written, data-entry, and typing skills.
• Ability to follow established processes with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload, multitask, and work independently or collaboratively.
• US work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Two years of experience in the insurance industry.
• Basic knowledge of rates, rules, and forms for supported lines and product lines.
