Senior DevSecOps Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Washington, DC Area — hybrid. This position is subject to U.S. export control regulations and is limited to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, naturalized citizens, and lawful permanent residents.

Salary: $180,000–$200,000 base salary, plus equity, benefits, and other perks.

What you will do

• Design and implement security controls and processes across CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Manage and optimize AWS environments for high availability and scalability.
• Implement and operate container orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS.
• Build Python scripts and automation tools, conduct security assessments, and manage vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, perform audits, and mentor junior DevSecOps engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in DevSecOps or a similar role.
• Strong experience with AWS services and architecture.
• Proficiency with GitLab source control and CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, Python, and IaC tools.
• Understanding of security principles, monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK, plus strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Visa sponsorship is unavailable; candidates on temporary visa statuses are not eligible.

Nice to have

• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Familiarity with IL 6/7 environments.
