Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid, based around the San Francisco HQ, San Diego, or the Bay Area

Salary: $185K–$218K annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Provision and manage cloud, on-premise, and bare-metal infrastructure as code with Terraform and SaltStack.
• Design and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Containerize and orchestrate services with Docker and Kubernetes across multiple environments.
• Own observability through metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Design for high availability, graceful degradation, recovery, and reliable operation under load.
• Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver durable fixes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Production experience provisioning and operating infrastructure from setup through deployment and on-call ownership.
• Hands-on AWS experience and strong infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform.
• Production experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Comfort with scripting, networking, Linux systems, security fundamentals, and breaking high-level goals into actionable delivery plans.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Java, Python, or Node.
• Experience operating hybrid-cloud, on-premise, or bare-metal fleets at scale.
• Background in highly available, mission-critical, real-time, or low-latency services.
• Experience with distributed data stores such as ScyllaDB or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2.
