Location: San Antonio, TX, US; hybrid work with an average of 2 days per week in the San Antonio office

What you will do

• Design and implement software architecture and platform capabilities from prototype through operational deployment.
• Develop and deploy infrastructure in AWS using infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Administer and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerized environments.
• Enhance, optimize, and improve the robustness of existing code and platform components.
• Integrate open-source software and develop custom components to solve complex big data and cloud problems.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues autonomously while supporting broader architectural goals.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required; a current U.S. Government security clearance is not required on day one, but one will be processed.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a master’s degree, or 9 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Professional experience with AWS infrastructure development and deployment.
• Experience with Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting, container build tooling such as Docker or Podman, and Kubernetes automation tools such as Helm, Kustomize, or Flux CD.
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications, and Shell/Bash scripting.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral, and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Current Secret or TS/SCI security clearance.
• Platform engineering or software development experience using Python or Go on Linux or Mac OS.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Travis CI, or Jenkins.
• Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Maven, virtualization platforms, or agile development tools.
• Familiarity with DISA’s Big Data Platform or systems such as Hadoop, Databricks, or Apache Spark.
