Security Operations, Senior Specialist (Cybersecurity)

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model

Salary: CAD 95,000–110,000 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan

What you will do

• Lead the design, review, and governance of security architectures across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Advise business, product, engineering, and technology stakeholders on security risks, controls, privacy, resilience, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop security standards, architecture patterns, frameworks, technical requirements, documentation, and operational procedures.
• Design, implement, and assess controls across identity and access management, SIEM, EDR, network security, container security, cryptography, and data protection.
• Manage third-party penetration testing engagements, including scope, methodology, findings analysis, prioritization, and remediation oversight.
• Monitor emerging threats and vulnerabilities, participate in governance forums, represent the organization in industry engagements, and mentor security professionals.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in computer science, information systems, information security, cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in information security, security architecture, cybersecurity engineering, or a related field.
• Experience defining and implementing security requirements, compliance obligations, and risk management practices with cloud platform stakeholders.
• Experience designing and implementing security controls in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise applications, databases, Windows and Linux, containerization, virtualization, networking, and backup and recovery solutions.
• Eligibility to work for hirify.global Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity; successful candidates must complete Canadian pre-employment background checks.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications or training such as CISSP, GIAC, TOGAF, SABSA, or SANS.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001/27002/27017/27018, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and privacy best practices.
