Cybersecurity Engineer (Fintech/Crypto)

Location: Based out of the office in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, with a hybrid schedule requiring two office days per week. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and harden security infrastructure across AWS cloud environments, including IAM, networking, and cloud security configurations.
• Build vulnerability management, reporting, monitoring, alerting, SIEM, and detection capabilities.
• Lead security incident response, investigation, remediation, and postmortem analysis.
• Partner with engineering, platform, backend, infrastructure, compliance, and operations teams on secure systems and development practices.
• Develop security automation and tooling, and support secure SDLC, threat modeling, and application security testing.
• Manage external penetration testing engagements and collaborate with vendors, auditors, and compliance stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience securing AWS and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of networking, Linux systems, IAM, infrastructure security, modern threats, attack vectors, and defensive controls.
• Experience with application security, secure software delivery, penetration testing programs, and remediation processes.
• Ability to write code, automation, or tooling for security operations.
• Strong incident response, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Experience with SIEM platforms, security orchestration, automation, and detection engineering.
• Experience with SAST/DAST tooling and workflows.
• Familiarity with FINTRAC, MiCA, DORA, PIPEDA, PCI-DSS, or SOC 2.
• OSCP, CISSP, GIAC, Security+, or cloud security certifications.
