Frontend Engineering Manager (Firefox Desktop)

Location: Remote US

Salary: $195,000–$260,000 USD annually for US Tier 1 locations; $179,000–$239,000 USD annually for US Tier 2 locations; $166,000–$221,000 USD annually for US Tier 3 locations.

What you will do

• Lead initiatives that improve Firefox Desktop user experiences across Windows, Linux, and macOS.
• Deliver high-quality, highly available, monitored, and maintainable software.
• Set team goals, manage project scope and risks, and own delivery timelines across multiple initiatives.
• Build and improve engineering processes that support a high-performing distributed team.
• Support engineers through regular feedback, mentoring, professional development, and delegation.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, Operations, and Data Science teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience leading engineers in software development environments and working across distributed teams.
• Software engineering experience sufficient to drive technical decisions and collaborate with engineers at different levels.
• Experience leading multiple concurrent projects and delivering sophisticated user-facing products on schedule.
• Experience with frontend platform initiatives such as design systems and frontend architectural improvements.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong communication, risk management, collaborative decision-making, hiring, mentoring, and team development skills.
