Engineering Manager, Frontend Experience (React)

Location: Remote - USA

Salary: $173,000–$216,500 per year for candidates in NYC, the SF Bay Area, and Seattle; $153,500–$211,200 per year for other U.S. locations. Variable compensation may also apply.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of 3–5 frontend engineers through 1:1s, performance reviews, career planning, hiring, onboarding, and mentorship.
• Design and implement modular frontend architecture using Module Federation, Micro Frontends, and monorepos.
• Drive the Dashboard migration from Angular to React and oversee a CapacitorJS- and WebView-based hybrid mobile approach.
• Set standards for frontend code quality, performance, security, scalability, and developer experience.
• Partner with Product, Design, Architecture, Design System, mobile, and backend teams on platform roadmaps and cross-platform consistency.
• Lead complex debugging and incident resolution across multiple frontend applications and communicate technical tradeoffs to executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in engineering management or a technical-lead management hybrid role.
• Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, Webpack or Vite, and frontend architecture patterns such as Module Federation, Micro Frontends, and monorepos.
• Experience leading modernization initiatives involving framework upgrades, legacy-system isolation, and developer-velocity improvements.
• Strong understanding of CapacitorJS, Ionic, WebViews, responsive design, and tablet and mobile optimization.
• Experience solving complex system-design problems across multiple teams and applications.
• Excellent communication, mentoring, and team-culture-building skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elixir/Phoenix, GraphQL, or EventBridge-based architectures.
• Background in mobile web optimization, B2B SaaS, commerce, or scheduling platforms.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling and structured code-quality initiatives.
• Experience modernizing large monoliths or bridging web and mobile ecosystems.
