Senior Lead Software Engineer - Frontend (React)

Toyota Financial Services develops finance and insurance products supporting Toyota and Lexus mobility services in North America.

What you will do

• Own front-end architecture, technical standards, tooling, and high-impact engineering decisions across product domains.
• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features spanning pixel-perfect user interfaces, APIs, and backend services.
• Lead technical design reviews, architecture discussions, RFCs, and cross-team alignment.
• Resolve performance, reliability, scalability, debugging, and technical debt issues across the full stack.
• Define testing, observability, deployment safety, and code-quality practices while collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering Managers.
• Mentor engineers, conduct technical interviews, and communicate technical risks and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future Toyota immigration sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong front-end expertise and principal or staff-level experience.
• Deep expertise in React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, component libraries, state management, and schema validation.
• Experience designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs and building serverless AWS services with API Gateway, Lambda, CloudFront, S3, DynamoDB, or RDS.
• Strong knowledge of front-end performance, full-stack debugging, automated testing, monorepo tooling, build systems, and technical communication.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, banking, or insurance.
• Design system ownership, micro-frontends, event-driven AWS architecture, or React Native development.
• GenAI tooling integration, AWS certifications, open-source front-end contributions, or organization-wide technical initiatives.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
