Desktop Engineer (IT Support)

Location: On-site at Crewe Toll, Edinburgh, UK. Candidates must be sole UK nationals and must have lived and worked continuously in the UK for the past five years to meet security-clearance requirements. Dual nationals cannot be considered.

What you will do

• Provide hands-on, on-site support for hardware, software and general IT issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot incidents, escalating complex issues to the appropriate technical teams.
• Install, configure and maintain IT equipment and services.
• Support technology projects, including deployments, upgrades and other site-based activities.
• Monitor systems, respond to incidents and maintain accurate records of incidents and equipment.
• Identify recurring issues and collaborate with colleagues to improve user experience and service quality.

Requirements

• Experience in IT support, service desk, field services or infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of common IT hardware, software, networking and user-support concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong attention to detail.
• Understanding of security procedures and willingness to develop technical knowledge.
• Eligibility for security clearance as a sole UK national, with five years of continuous residence and employment in the UK; dual nationals are not eligible.

Nice to have

• CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365, AWS Cloud Practitioner or similar IT qualifications and certifications.
