Senior Claims Adjuster, Workers Compensation

Location: Remote within the United States; territories excluded. Remote employees must live and work in the United States and have reliable high-speed internet.

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Independently manage workers’ compensation claims from setup through closure, including investigation, compensability decisions, reserves, and statutory benefits.
• Evaluate high-dollar, high-exposure, and complex claims and pursue mitigation opportunities.
• Manage defense counsel, litigation activity, legal fees, early resolution opportunities, and settlement negotiations.
• Present claims to senior management and internal and external stakeholders.
• Support agents and insureds with claim guidance, status updates, coverage verification, and loss run reports.
• Improve claims operations, service processes, standard operating procedures, and handling protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with some college coursework is preferred.
• At least 5 years of workers’ compensation claims adjusting experience required; carrier experience preferred.
• Active licensing in applicable states required.
• Advanced knowledge of jurisdictional regulatory and statutory requirements, CMS/MSA requirements, claim adjudication, medical management, and litigation management.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to mentor junior adjusters; experience with G-Suite and Slack is preferred.

Nice to have

• Workers’ compensation claims experience in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience using G-Suite and collaboration tools such as Slack.
