Manager, Alternative Operations - Restructures

Location: New York, NY or Austin, TX, USA

Base salary: $135,000–$168,000 per year, plus a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Provide operational coverage for private distressed credit portfolios, including deal settlement, funding coordination, wire updates, and cash movements.
• Oversee outsourced providers handling settlements, asset setup, waterfall calculations, principal and interest processing, reconciliations, and document custody.
• Review credit agreements and operationalize accrual mechanics, indices, payment schedules, maturities, and other key terms.
• Execute loan amendments, restructurings, share conversions, and other non-standard lifecycle events.
• Coordinate with Portfolio Managers, Account Managers, Alternatives Finance, custodians, banks, vendors, technology teams, and project managers.
• Improve operational controls, systems, process documentation, workflow maps, and control inventories.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least eight years of relevant operations experience across private and directly originated debt and/or equity.
• Strong knowledge of term loans, revolvers, delayed draws, privately originated debt and equity, loan setup, interest calculations, amendments, restructurings, agency functions, and settlements.
• Hands-on experience reviewing credit agreements and extracting key terms for loan servicing and deal structuring.
• Experience with transfer agents, custody and accounting service providers, fund accounting, lifecycle-event accounting, and complex securities processing.
• Proficiency in Excel and the ability to analyze large data sets.
