Senior Director, Platform Programs & Portfolio (AI)

Location: Remote-friendly within the United States and Canada, or in-office/hybrid at hubs in San Francisco, Portland, Boston, Denver, Toronto, or Montreal. Travel is approximately 10–15%.

Salary: $205,000–$366,630 annual base salary for U.S.-based roles, with offers varying by experience and geographic location. Additional compensation may include annual bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and evolve scalable delivery operating models, planning frameworks, governance, and collaboration practices across the Platform Services & Emerging Technologies organization.
• Transform technical program management and portfolio practices into AI-native systems with scalable tooling and decision support.
• Lead the TPM and Portfolio organization, strengthening prioritization, cross-functional execution, PDLC practices, and stakeholder alignment.
• Provide executive visibility into program health, progress, capacity, risks, milestones, and cross-team dependencies.
• Drive portfolio governance, including sequencing, trade-off decisions, capacity planning, investment assessment, and risk management.
• Oversee complex platform initiatives from problem framing and planning through delivery, measurable outcomes, and escalation resolution.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program leadership, enterprise portfolio or program leadership, technology operations, consulting/PMO, or comparable technology portfolio roles.
• 7+ years leading cross-functional teams or program organizations, with experience managing large-scale technology programs and cross-organizational dependencies.
• Experience owning portfolio execution strategy and governance, including prioritization, sequencing, trade-offs, and resource allocation.
• Fluency in software development lifecycle practices, engineering workflows, AI-assisted development, and rapid experimentation.
• Strong systems thinking, data-driven decision-making, communication, senior stakeholder influence, and delivery risk management skills.
• Experience building and leading program or portfolio organizations at scale, including organizational design, talent development, and leadership bench-building.

• Experience reasoning about complex platform architectures, technical dependencies, and operational risks.
• Experience in enterprise-scale platform environments supporting multiple products, teams, or businesses.
