Staff Technical Program Manager (AI)

Location: McLean, Virginia; hybrid work with 3 days per week onsite. Candidates based in the Tysons vicinity are prioritized.

Annual base salary: $139,000–$222,000

What you will do

• Lead multiple concurrent strategic product, platform, and engineering initiatives across complex cross-functional dependencies.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to drive execution, delivery predictability, operational efficiency, and throughput.
• Manage technical challenges, risks, system changes, architecture decisions, documentation, and executive communications.
• Coordinate production GenAI operational controls, including usage telemetry, monitoring, fallback, and rollback mechanisms.
• Improve tools and processes and mentor TPM, Operations, and Engineering communities in program management practices.
• Represent R&D in technical and business discussions and connect program outcomes to business metrics.

Requirements

• 10+ years of leadership experience in Product, Engineering, or PMO environments.
• 5+ years working closely with C-level executives and experience presenting technical risks and strategic trade-offs to senior leadership.
• 3+ years of experience in Cloud or SaaS and a strong understanding of hybrid-cloud architecture, infrastructure, systems development, and cloud computing.
• Experience delivering AI/ML or GenAI products or features from use-case definition through production launch and post-launch iterations, including AI model lifecycle management.
• Experience with responsible AI governance, Security and Legal partnerships, SDLC, project management, product lifecycle methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience defining KPIs, calculating ROI, managing large-scale or multi-million-dollar programs, and integrating technical architecture, operational workflows, and business processes.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of people management experience.
• Experience with hybrid-cloud solutions, acquisition integration, and cultural change management.
• PMP, CSM, CPO, PgMP, IAPM, CISSP, ITIL, or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience applying AI to business problems and measurable outcomes in ambiguous, dynamic environments.
