Building Science Analyst

Salary: $61,500–$70,000 per year

What you will do

• Act as the program’s technical expert for building science and energy-efficiency measures.
• Conduct desktop project verifications and review documents for technical accuracy and sound building science practices.
• Ensure program designs and installations meet applicable program, Department of Energy, and state standards.
• Develop technical training materials and deliver guidance and training to internal and external participants, including trade allies.
• Quality-check complex measures and energy modeling runs, assess evaluation risks, and communicate mitigation strategies.
• Develop protocols for interpreting specifications, guidelines, manuals, and technical requirements.

Requirements

• Must be based in Michigan while working remotely.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience, such as HVAC, electrical, residential construction, building maintenance, or general contracting.
• Strong knowledge of building science and its applications.
• BPI Building Analyst Professional certification is required, or must be obtained within the first 60 days.
• Strong communication, organizational, mathematical, and documentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• High school diploma and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Building Science or a related program.
• Salesforce experience.
• Knowledge of Energy Star, AHRI, BPI Standards, and NREL Standard Work Specifications.
